SERVICE LEADERSHIP CORPS TRAINING

As a member of the Service Leadership Corps, you’ll have the chance to keep learning and growing throughout the year. These training sessions will be led by professionals, Mission Continues staff, or former members who can share their knowledge and experiences. You’ll get to improve your abilities in areas like finding and involving volunteers, building partnerships with community organizations, planning projects, taking care of yourself, and more. Each training will also be a great opportunity to connect with others and develop new skills.

NEW TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Mission Ready 2025 is a series of virtual sessions crafted to prepare, support, and coach all Platoon Leadership Teams as you navigate the process of planning for the FOUR National Days of Service of 2025! 

These virtual sessions are aligned to the phases of the service project lifecycle and the tasks included in Basecamp, our project management tool – enabling Platoon Leadership Teams to plan and execute high-quality service events. 

PHASE 1

Get Mission Ready and unlock exciting incentives as you and your team work together to make an impact in your community! Our tiered incentive program is designed to reward your participation and commitment, with bigger prizes as you attend more sessions. The more you engage, the more you earn—both as individuals and as a team. 

PHASE 1 – Session Attendance Incentive

  • Individual: Each individual that attends will receive a gift card after each session 
  • Team: If your entire team shows up to a session, you’ll be entered in a drawing for a team prize! 

Getting Started w/ your community partner: Cultivating a long-term partnership   

In a world where meaningful connections can make all the difference, the upcoming session “Cultivating Long-Term Partnerships” is your chance to learn how to spark relationships that leave a lasting impact in your local communities. Discover how to bridge the gap between your service platoon and your community partners by focusing on the assets within the community and your shared goals and values. This session will explore how a long-term partnership can amplify your service work and create ripple effects that strengthen the entire community. Whether you’ve already identified a partner for National Days of Service in 2025 or are just beginning the search, this interactive session is designed to equip you with the tools and strategies to cultivate relationships that will fuel future projects.

From leveraging in-kind donations to making the most of The Mission Continues’ non-profit status, you’ll learn how to strengthen your project’s impact without straining your budget. Plus, discover strategies to cultivate stronger community connections while delivering high-quality service projects that make a lasting impact.

FAQ

Is this training mandatory? 

While this training is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged to attend and participate.

How should I prepare for this training? 

There are no required actions to take before each session. However, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you take the Foundational Courses in the Veteran Online Leadership Training (VOLT) on LearnUpon. Specific details about which course ties to each session can be found under the course descriptions above.

If I can’t attend the session, can I still have access to the information?

Yes, absolutely! All recordings will be made available in the VOLT on LearnUpon within one week after the live session.

Does watching the recording count for the incentive?

Unfortunately, we are unable to count watching the recording as a part of the incentive. However, you can attend a session outside of your time zone!

Do I need to attend all the huddle spaces?

No. However, to be eligible for the Tier 3 incentives, you must attend at least one huddle space.
